Hyperfocus
ADHD hyperfocus – a state of intense concentration and absorption in a task or activity. We might become so engrossed that we lose track of time and our surroundings, having an almost obsessive dedication to the task at hand. This focused attention can lead to remarkable productivity and creativity, yet it may also result in neglect of other responsibilities or difficulty shifting attention when necessary. 😅

What did I do today?
Sometimes we get lost in this paralysing cycle of neither allowing ourselves to rest due to the incomplete to-do list, yet not being able to be productive due to a need to rest. 😵💫 It’s as if our minds are constantly battling between the urge to keep going and the need to recharge.
I'm lost
Living with ADHD often means navigating a constant dance with distraction. We might start one task, only to find ourselves pulled away by a sudden impulse to tackle something entirely different. Before we know it, hours have slipped by without us even realizing it. 🌀

Am I hungry or sad?
We might often find ourselves reaching for food when boredom hits, seeking that temporary distraction or comfort. Boredom can also leave us feeling restless and unfulfilled, much like sadness does, prompting us to seek out quick fixes to alleviate the discomfort. Often it’s difficult to tell boredom, sadness and hunger apart.
overachieving
Having ADHD can often feel like having a mind that’s constantly buzzing with energy and ideas, urging us to dive headfirst into a myriad of tasks and hobbies. It’s like being fueled by endless enthusiasm and curiosity, always seeking out new experiences and challenges. We might find ourselves bouncing from one activity to the next, eager to explore every avenue that catches our interest. Yet, amidst all this excitement, we can sometimes feel overwhelmed by the sheer abundance of options, struggling to focus our energies and prioritize.

zoning out
Zoning out can feel like being caught in a fog, where the world around us blurs into the background. It’s not a deliberate choice; rather, it’s as if the attention decides to take an unexpected detour, leaving us disconnected from the present moment. We might find ourselves staring blankly into space or getting lost in thoughts that seem to have a life of their own. 😄
